Buttons Patchwork

Buttons Patchwork was formed in June 2010 by Maria Swain and Katie Rowley Two Surface Pattern design students who had just completed there first year at Staffordshire University and wanted to put their patterns into practice. They learn't to sew at a little shop and tearoom in the heart of Nantwich Cheshire were they created interior furnishings, children's clothing and gifts. Firstly using silkscreen printed fabrics and then also working on a collection called the colour collection using brought fabrics chosen for their colour combinations and patterns.

In 2011 Buttons Patchwork had over five handprinted collections such as Daisy Dolly, Ginger and George, Funky fair, Bird at the Ritz, Red, white and blue and Tipped out the teddies.
The final December collection was inspired by Wedgwood archive pattern books and was there most successful collection so far. The collections were called spinning top circus and Toby's Toybox.

Now in 2012 Buttons Patchwork designers Katie and Maria are currently working on there new spring/summer collections after a small break whilst completing there final year at University. The new collections are a development of the Buttons Patchwork style and are currently being kept underwraps.
